Launceston

Launceston is similar in population size to Hobart and, with cheap flights from the mainland of Australia, offers travellers the great option of beginning or ending your exploration of Tasmania here. Unfortunately, as Hobart is Tasmania's state capital city, many travellers bypass this city in favour of visiting the more well-known Hobart city. This is a shame as Launceston boasts some fantastic attractions such as Cataract Gorge and the vineyards in the Tamar Valley. Launceston is one of the hidden delights to be discovered in Tasmania and one of Australia's great towns to visit.
