Travel in air-conditioned comfort, hear intriguing stories and learn the secrets of this unique world-renowned destination in the heart of Australia.
Our first stop of the day, following your early morning pick up, is Erldunda (home of the Emu) for breakfast (own expense)
We will visit the Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Uluru with ample time to learn about the local Pitjantjatjara people and buy souvenirs.
The Cultural Centre was created with the help of the local Anangu people and built from 90,000 mud bricks. The sacred site that the Cultural Centre is built on has special meaning to its traditional owners.
Heading to the base of the majestic Uluru (Ayers Rock), your tour guide will take you on the guided Mala Walk.
Please note; due to the spiritual and cultural significance, tourists are no longer permitted to climb Uluru.
You will witness many fascinating examples of ancient Anangu rock art along the Mala Walk along north-west side of Uluru.
Following the Mala Walk, we embark on another guided walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole which is located at the back of Uluru.
Walk a short distance off the track to visit the home of the ancestral water snake; Wanampi. Be amazed by stories of local traditions and learn how the Anangu people traditionally used the waterhole for hunting. The caves containing rock art were used in the past by the Anangu people, whose ancestors are still alive today.
Watch in awe as the colours of Uluru change with the setting sun. This is truly an unforgettable Australian experience and furthermore, something you should witness at least once in your life.
Relax as you sip on a glass of Sparkling Wine and feast on a delicious Aussie BBQ dinner while viewing a breathtaking Uluru sunset. You are very welcome to bring your own beer and additional drinks.
Relax as you are driven back to Alice Springs, arriving late evening. This completes your One day Uluru with Sunset tour.
