Uluru is perhaps the most photographed rock on Earth, and also one of the most remote!
Located in the middle of the Australian land mass, taking approximately 3 hours to fly to from the east or west coast, this area is beautiful, rugged and best symbolises Outback Australia.
Near Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock) there is a hostel, hotel, camping facilities and an airport, but most of the tours start and finish in Alice Springs (where the accommodation is usually cheaper!) so make sure to investigate tours at the same time as booking flights.
There are many more wonders than just The Rock to explore, such as Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and the magnificent West MacDonnell Ranges. All of these areas are fascinating and will treat the visitor to some great Outlook experiences.
