Cradle Mountain is named as such because from certain angles its two peaks appear to have a cradle-like shape between them. Located in the north west region of Tasmania it is a must see spot when visiting the 'apple isle'. Whether by hire vehicle or tour, the trip to the Cradle Mountain National Park is well worth the effort, even if you're not much of a mountaineering person. Just taking a simple stroll around the banks of Lake St. Claire enjoying the mountain vista will take your breath away. Remember to take your winter clothes and a raincoat as weather in this alpine climate is unpredictable and can change in a second!
