Litchfield National Park is often referred to as the 'Kakadu for the locals'. If you are short on time or want to see as much as possible of this wonderful region, it's highly recommended to visit Litchfield. Waterfalls and swimming holes are flowing all year round and some tours have the added bonus of seeing the crocodiles en route.
